Be festive and Be safe

The Vigan Festival is a vibrant and lively festival showcasing energetic performances, carnivals, art showcases, and delicious food, but due to Vigan being a Unesco World Heritage City and a prominent tourist spot many people always gather especially during festivals. We can’t just shut down the festival, because closing a festival means turning down Its lavish history and culture that’s been following it for forever. Rules and Restrictions need to be implemented so that we can minimize or forgo the spread of Covid while remaining to enjoy the festival safely.

I may suggest the prohibiting of all food stalls and booths, food stall is one of the main suspects of having too many people crowded together eating without mask which increase the risk of the spread of covid. I recommend that the performance, acts, and art exhibit are the ones that should only be open, but even then people should follow the covid guidelines by standing 6 feet apart and occasionally using alcohol and sanitizer. The entrance of these exhibits should not allow people without masks, face shields, and a physical copy of their vaccine card.

I have faith that the authorities will handle this event greatly and should monitor this event closely and should always be prepared. The Mayor needs to be aware of all the risks and harm that this event can bring and makes practical and logical decisions based on that. The municipality also needs to provide an abundant amount of alcohol and sanitizer for public use to maintain sanitation. I hope that the Festival will not affect us too great so that we can recover quickly.
