Festivals are a celebration of culture and tradition that fully reflects the location that it’s taking place in, and in turn cause exchange through tourist and citizens, Festivals brings people together between citizens and tourist by letting the tourist take a glimpse at the culture and tradition of the place that the festival is taking place. While the citizens benefit by selling some of their locals products and souvenirs and increasing the economy of the city.

 

 


The Vigan City’s very own Kannawidan festival is a celebration of the separation of the two Ilocos provinces in 1818. Kannawidan Ylocos Festivals features, Ilocano food, local dishes, indigenous performances, rituals, song performances, and sometimes celebrity guests. Due to this, the amount of tourism increases in Vigan city brought by the visiting people from other places wanting to experience this for themselves. Vigan city, in turn, capitalizes on the incoming tourist by increasing the supply of souvenirs and local products to produce an increase in sales.

 


Kannawidan Festival is also very important from the entertainment perspective, festivals have always been entertaining people by the colorful dances, delicious food and sometimes bringing famous celebrities that many people want to meet and see live. But due to the pandemic people must proceed with caution when interacting with others. And always remember to bring hand sanitizer and mask to be safe.
